New location – Royal Liberty School, Upper Brentwood Road, Gidea Park, RM2 6HJ
From September we are moving away from Emerson Park School! Since Covid we have been losing the sports hall for more and more weeks and each year the number increases. This year they have said they will be doing all internal exams in the sports hall so the situation will only get worse! This is proving so difficult in providing high quality coaching as we lose continuity and by people having a few weeks off, a few weeks on and then off again I don’t feel that this is fair. Not fair to the players and certainly not fair to our team of coaches. The continuity of a permanent venue and a new home for the club is what we have been striving for and working really hard behind the scenes to be able to secure!!
Now for the details!! We are moving to the new sports hall at Royal Liberty School, Upper Brentwood Road, Gidea Park, RM2 6HJ. Whilst this hall is also used for examinations, they also have an old sports hall which isn’t so it means that in the weeks we can’t use the new hall we will move to the old hall meaning that we can play for the majority of the year including school holidays!! There may be the odd one or two weeks we can't have either, but these are very limited. This gives our coaches continuity with their hours and enables them to build better programmes without the enforced breaks!
Onwards and upwards .....

Head Coach Amanda Austin was part of the Essex Over 55 Team that won the prestigious National Title at the County Championships held in Birmingham.
Throughout the season Essex played in the South East Division, beating Kent, Surrey and Sussex to top a really strong division. This meant a play-off against Lincolnshire, which they won to become one of the Top 4 Counties in the country who then played off in the Birmingham finals.
Essex defeated Hampshire 11-1 on the Saturday and then Lancashire 10-2 on the Sunday to take the National Title.
Many congratulations to Amanda and her fellow Essex players.
